To encourage listed companies to pay attention to environmental protection issues and corporate social responsibility, the Corporate Governance Evaluation System has adopted the following question as one of its extra point indicators: “Did the company perform especially well in corporate governance, e.g. sustained investment in significant machinery and equipment for energy conservation or green energy related environmental sustainability, or issuance of or investment in green financial products whose funds are used for investment in green projects which are actually of benefit in improving the environment?” The Taiwan Stock Exchange and Taipei Exchange plan to hold educational seminars in the first quarter of 2020 to help listed companies understand the content of the evaluation and gradually adopt better corporate governance practices.
