Outstanding SME Loans by Domestic Banks as of January 2019

The Financial Supervisory Commission has released that up until the end of January 2019, the loans extended to SMEs by domestic banks amounted to NT$6,436 billion. The amount decreased by NT$1.67 billion as compared to the amount at the end of December 2018.
Up until the end of January 2019, the loans extended to SMEs by domestic banks accounted for 60.51% and 63.43% of total loans extended to total enterprises and private enterprises respectively, decreased by 0.24 and 0.20 percentage points respectively as compared to the end of December 2018. In January 2019, the average NPL ratio of the SME loans was 0.45% and increased by 0.02 percentage point as compared to the end of December 2018.
The Financial Supervisory Commission continues to encourage domestic banks to promote SME loans with risk control and management in place. The FSC will endeavor to foster a favorable banking environment for Small and Medium Enterprises.
