Outstanding SME Loans by Domestic Banks as of April 2019

The Financial Supervisory Commission has released that up until the end of April 2019, the loans extended to SMEs by domestic banks amounted to NT$6,463billion. The amount increased by NT$25.75 billion as compared to the amount at the end of March 2019.

Up until the end of April 2019, the loans extended to SMEs by domestic banks accounted for 61.72% and 64.49% of total loans extended to total enterprises and private enterprises respectively, increased by 0.59 and 0.45 percentage points respectively as compared to the end of March 2019. In April 2019, the average NPL ratio of the SME loans was 0.43% and decreased by 0.01 percentage point as compared to the end of March 2019.

The Financial Supervisory Commission continues to encourage domestic banks to promote SME loans with risk control and management in place. The FSC will endeavor to foster a favorable banking environment for Small and Medium Enterprises.
