Status of Foreign Portfolio Investment 2022-4-7 (May 5, 2022 Revised)

1. Foreign Institutional Investors (FINI) and Mainland Area Investors’ (QDII) Investment in the Securities Markets
（1） Offshore FINIs: 74 applications were registered from Mar. 1, 2022 to Mar. 31, 2022.
（2） Onshore FINIs: 3 applications were registered from Mar. 1, 2022 to Mar. 31, 2022.
（3） QDIIs: 0 application was registered from Mar. 1, 2022 to Mar. 31, 2022. According to the Regulations Governing Securities Investment and Futures Trading in Taiwan by Mainland Area Investors, mainland area investors (QDIIs) that engage in securities investment or futures trading in Taiwan are limited to qualified institutional investors approved by the competent authority of banking, insurance or securities for the mainland area.
（4） As of Mar. 31, 2022, cumulative net inward-remittance from offshore FINIs was about US$227.73 billion, and QDIIs was about US$29 million. (Revised on May 5, 2022)

（1） Offshore FIDIs: 1 applications were registered from Mar. 1, 2022 to Mar. 31, 2022.
（2） Onshore FIDIs: 317 applications were registered from Mar. 1, 2022 to Mar. 31, 2022.
（3） As of Mar. 31, 2022, cumulative net inward-remittance from offshore FIDIs totaled about US$194 million.
3. As of Mar. 31, 2022, cumulative net inward-remittance from offshore FINIs, QDIIs and offshore FIDIs totaled about US$227.95 billion. (Revised on May 5, 2022).
4. Foreign Portfolio Investment in Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) Shares
（1） Cumulatively from Jan. 1, 2022 to Mar. 31, 2022, all foreign investors bought NT$4,680.30 billion, and sold NT$5,087.20 billion of stocks, amounting to a net-sell of NT$406.90 billion.
（2） Cumulatively from Jan. 1, 2022 to Mar. 31, 2022, QDIIs bought NT$0.65 billion, and sold NT$ 1.51 billion of stocks, amounting to a net-sell of NT$0.86 billion.
5. Foreign Portfolio Investment in Taipei Exchange (TPEX) Shares
（1） Cumulatively from Jan. 1, 2022 to Mar. 31, 2022, all foreign investors bought NT$773.06 billion, and sold NT$802.68 billion of stocks, amounting to a net-sell of NT$29.62 billion.
（2） Cumulatively from Jan. 1, 2022 to Mar. 31, 2022, QDIIs bought NT$ 0.10, and sold NT$ 0.30 billion of stocks, amounting to a net-sell of NT$0.20 billion.
