The Financial Supervisory Commission has released that up until the end of April 2022, the loans extended to SMEs by domestic banks amounted to NT$8,858 billion. The amount increased by NT$60.82 billion as compared to the amount at the end of March 2022.
Up until the end of April 2022, the loans extended to SMEs by domestic banks accounted for 67.85% and 70.58% of total loans extended to total enterprises and private enterprises respectively, decreased by 0.01 and increased by 0.02 percentage points respectively as compared to the end of March 2022. In April 2022, the average NPL ratio of the SME loans was 0.26% and the ratio is the same as the end of March 2022.
The Financial Supervisory Commission continues to encourage domestic banks to promote SME loans with risk control and management in place. The FSC will endeavor to foster a favorable banking environment for Small and Medium Enterprises.
