The Financial Supervisory Commission has released that up until the end of July 2022, the loans extended to SMEs by domestic banks amounted to NT$9,063 billion. The amount increased by NT$55.13 billion as compared to the amount at the end of June 2022.
Up until the end of July 2022, the loans extended to SMEs by domestic banks accounted for 66.50% and 69.92% of total loans extended to total enterprises and private enterprises respectively, decreased by 1.20 and 0.70 percentage points respectively as compared to the end of June 2022. In July 2022, the average NPL ratio of the SME loans was 0.27% and the ratio is the same as the end of June 2022.
The Financial Supervisory Commission continues to encourage domestic banks to promote SME loans with risk control and management in place. The FSC will endeavor to foster a favorable banking environment for Small and Medium Enterprises.
