NPL Ratio for Domestic Banks as of the End of February 2026

      The total outstanding loans extended by the current 38 domestic banks increased by NT$569 billion (US$18.21 billion) as compared to the figure of the previous month and amounted to NT$45.87 trillion (US$1,468 billion) at the end of February 2026. Meanwhile, the NPLs of these banks totaled at NT$68.4 billion (US$2.19 billion), an increase of NT$1.13 billion (US$0.04 billion) against the previous month. The average NPL ratio of the 38 banks was 0.15%, remaining the same as of the previous month and down by 0.01 percentage points from the same month last year.
  The coverage ratios of allowances for NPLs was 901.61%, a decrease of 12.72 percentage points against the previous month. The asset quality of domestic banks continuously remained manageable according to the above figures as of the end of February 2026. The FSC will require banks to undertake measures to improve asset quality and financial structure on an ongoing basis.
