The FSC amended Article 36-3 of the aforementioned Regulations on March 15, 2019 to enhance corporate governance and facilitate the effectiveness of the boards of directors of service enterprises in securities and futures market. The amendments stipulate that, after having considered the size, business nature, and other necessary situations of service enterprises, the competent authority shall require service enterprises to appoint a Corporate Governance Officer. Besides, according to business situation and management needs, such service enterprises may deploy a suitable number of qualified corporate governance personnel and appoint a Corporate Governance Officer.
