To strengthen communication with insurance-related companies and associations as well as enhance the effectiveness of internal audit practices, the FSC held a colloquium for chief internal auditors of life insurance companies, non-life insurance companies and reinsurance companies along with the life insurance association and non-life insurance association on November 21, 2025. Independent directors were invited to participate for the first time, allowing them to gain deeper insights into audit operations and supervisory measures.

At the colloquium, Vice Chairperson Chen delivered opening remarks and presented awards to six insurance companies recognized for excellence in internal audit performance. Vice Chairperson Chen emphasized the importance of collaboration between audit units and independent directors, noting that their participation will reinforce board and senior management commitment to audit functions and resource investment.

The session topics included highlights for assessing the performance of internal audit unit’s function, the primary examination findings for consumer protection, recent liberalized insurance business activities and supervision focuses. In addition, the decrees of integrity and gender equality were disseminated by the FSC’s Ethics and HR officials.

The bilateral communicative colloquium benefited financial institutions better understand the FSC’s supervisory concerns and examination focuses. The FSC will continue to host such colloquiums in due course to sustain effective communication with the insurance sector.
