Outstanding SME Loans by Domestic Banks as of January 2017

The Financial Supervisory Commission has released that up until the end of January 2017, the loans extended to SMEs by domestic banks amounted to NT$5,694 billion. The amount decreased by NT$32.7 billion as compared to the amount at the end of December 2016.
Up until the end of January 2017, the loans extended to SMEs by domestic banks accounted for 58.69% and 61.45% of total loans extended to total enterprises and private enterprises respectively, decreased by 0.1 and 0.11 percentage points respectively as compared to the end of December 2016. In January 2017, the average NPL ratio of the SME loans was 0.43% and decreased by 0.01 percentage points as compared to the end of December 2016.
The Financial Supervisory Commission will encourage domestic banks to promote SME loans with proper risk control and management. The FSC will endeavor to foster a favorable banking environment for Small and Medium Enterprises.
