Outstanding SME Loans by Domestic Banks as of January 2024

The Financial Supervisory Commission has released that the loans extended to SMEs by domestic banks amounted to NT$9,769.5billion by the end of January 2024. The amount increased by NT$3.06billion as compared to the amount at the end of December 2023.
Up until the end of January 2024, the loans extended to SMEs by domestic banks accounted for 65.96% and 69.33% of total loans extended to total enterprises and private enterprises respectively, increased by 0.75 and 0.07 percentage points respectively as compared to the end of December 2023. In January 2024, the average NPL ratio of the SME loans was 0.24% and the ratio is increased by 0.02 compared to the end of December 2023.
The Financial Supervisory Commission continues to encourage domestic banks to promote SME loans with risk control and management in place. The FSC will endeavor to foster a favorable banking environment for SMEs.
