Promotion of Financial Knowledge
1. Background
The establishment of sound financial knowledge is essential to reduce financial disputes, prevent financial crimes, and safeguard consumer rights. The Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) has made the promotion of financial literacy one of its core policy objectives. Since the launch of the “Financial Literacy Promotion Program” in 2006, the FSC has continuously worked to build a comprehensive framework for financial education. This includes the integration of related initiatives and resources, as well as the implementation of foundational financial education across various levels.
Furthermore, targeted outreach efforts have been made to address the specific needs of different groups, including women, senior citizens, indigenous peoples, and new immigrants. Emphasis is also placed on critical issues such as anti-money laundering, financial products for senior citizens, etc. Through these initiatives, the FSC aims to enhance overall financial awareness, promote financial inclusion, and create a secure, equitable financial environment for all.
