The Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) awarded financial institutions , and has been promoting programs such as “Program to boost loans by Domestic Banks to SME” (the part related to green finance is the “Program to encourage domestic banks to provide loans to new key innovative industries”)

On April 26, 2019, the FSC held the “47th Business Contact Meeting with the General Managers of Domestic Banks”, chaired by chairman Wellington L. Koo, and awarded financial institutions which had achieved good results in extending loans to new key innovative industries.
 
To encourage domestic banks to establish long-term partnerships with the 5+2 Key innovative industries, and assist businesses in these industries in obtaining working capital, the FSC continues to promote the “Program to encourage domestic banks to provide loans to new key innovative industries” this year(2019) . The program is implementing the 3rd period, and expected credit extension target of this period is set at NT$200 billion.
 
As of the end of 2018, the loan balance to new key innovative industries by domestic banks amounted to 5 trillion 25.2 billion, an increase of about NT$ 201.16 billion from the end of 2017 and reached 100.58% of the expected target of NT$ 200 billion. Those domestic banks which had achieved good results in extending loan to new key innovative industries were awarded in this meeting. Among them, 8 banks received special awards for individual industries, including green energy technology industry as Taiwan Cooperative Bank; circular economy industry such as a Taiwan Business Bank; and renewable energy industry such as Cathay United Bank.
