Outstanding SME Loans by Domestic Banks as of December 2018

The Financial Supervisory Commission has released that up until the end of December 2018, the loans extended to SMEs by domestic banks amounted to NT$6,438 billion. The amount increased by NT$63.39 billion as compared to the amount at the end of November 2018 , and the amount increased by NT$335.5 billion as compared to the amount at the end of December 2017, which accounted for 124.28% of the 2018 growth target NT$270 billion.
Up until the end of December 2018, the loans extended to SMEs by domestic banks accounted for 60.75% and 63.63% of total loans extended to total enterprises and private enterprises respectively, inecreased by 0.36 and 0.54 percentage points respectively as compared to the end of November 2018. In December 2018, the average NPL ratio of the SME loans was 0.43% and decreased by 0.03 percentage point as compared to the end of November 2018.
The Financial Supervisory Commission continues to encourage domestic banks to promote SME loans with risk control and management in place. The FSC will endeavor to foster a favorable banking environment for Small and Medium Enterprises.
