Outstanding SME Loans by Domestic Banks as of October 2023

The Financial Supervisory Commission has released that the loans extended to SMEs by domestic banks amounted to NT$9,633billion by the end of October 2023. The amount increased by NT$51.9 billion as compared to the amount at the end of September 2023.
Up until the end of October 2023, the loans extended to SMEs by domestic banks accounted for 65.02% and 68.79% of total loans extended to total enterprises and private enterprises respectively, increased by 0.36 and 0.06 percentage points respectively as compared to the end of September 2023. In October 2023, the average NPL ratio of the SME loans was 0.24% and the ratio is increased by 0.01 compared to the end of September 2023.
The Financial Supervisory Commission continues to encourage domestic banks to promote SME loans with risk control and management in place. The FSC will endeavor to foster a favorable banking environment for Small and medium enterprises.
