Status of Foreign Portfolio Investment
1. Foreign Institutional Investors (FINI) and Mainland Area Investors’ (QDII) Investment in the Securities Markets
（1）Offshore FINIs: 59 applications were registered from Nov. 1, 2023 to Nov. 30, 2023.
（2）Onshore FINIs: 2 applications were registered from Nov. 1, 2023 to Nov. 30, 2023.
（3）QDIIs: 0 application was registered from Nov. 1, 2023 to Nov. 30, 2023. According to the Regulations Governing Securities Investment and Futures Trading in Taiwan by Mainland Area Investors, mainland area investors (QDIIs) that engage in securities investment or futures trading in Taiwan are limited to qualified institutional investors approved by the competent authority of banking, insurance or securities for the mainland area.
（4）As of Nov. 30, 2023, cumulative net inward-remittance from offshore FINIs was about US$236.59 billion, and QDIIs was about US$40 million.
2. Foreign Individual Investors’ (FIDI) Investment in the Securities Markets
（1）Offshore FIDIs: 2 applications were registered from Nov. 1, 2023 to Nov. 30, 2023.
（2）Onshore FIDIs: 187 applications were registered from Nov. 1, 2023 to Nov. 30, 2023.
（3） As of Nov. 31, 2023, cumulative net inward-remittance from offshore FIDIs totaled about US$189 million.
3. As of Nov. 31, 2023, cumulative net inward-remittance from offshore FINIs, QDIIs and offshore FIDIs totaled about US$236.82 billion.
4. Foreign Portfolio Investment in Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) Shares
（1）Cumulatively from Jan. 1, 2023 to Nov. 31, 2023, all foreign investors bought NT$18,754.54 billion, and sold NT$18,665.11 billion of stocks, amounting to a net-buy of NT$89.43 billion.
（2）Cumulatively from Jan. 1, 2023 to Nov. 31, 2023, QDIIs bought NT$2.244 billion, and sold NT$1.947 billion of stocks, amounting to a net-buy of NT$0.297 billion.
5. Foreign Portfolio Investment in Taipei Exchange (TPEX) Shares
（1）Cumulatively from Jan. 1, 2023 to Nov. 31, 2023, all foreign investors bought NT$3,395.05 billion, and sold NT$3,459.77 billion of stocks, amounting to a net-sell of NT$64.72 billion.
（2）Cumulatively from Jan. 1, 2023 to Nov. 31, 2023, QDIIs bought NT$ 0.649 billion, and sold NT$0.827 billion of stocks, amounting to a net-sell of NT$0.178 billion.
