Outward investments and profits of listed companies by 2023 Q3

1. Outward Investments and profits from China:(amount in NTD)
(1) As of 2023 Q3, 1,208 listed companies (687 TWSE- and 521 TPEx-listed companies) had investments in China accounting for 71.23% of total 1,696 listed companies, a decrease of 2 companies relative to the end of 2022.
(2) As of 2023 Q3, the accumulated outflow of investments in China of TWSE-listed and TPEx-listed companies were 2,539 billion and 255 billion respectively with a total of 2,794 billion, an increase of 91 billion from the end of 2022.
(3) In 2023 Q3, the profits from investments in China of TWSE-listed and TPEx-listed companies were 308 billion and 17 billion respectively with a total of 325 billion. The total profits ranked third highest in record despite a YOY decrease of 26 billion.
(4) In 2023 Q3, the inflow of profits from investments in China of listed companies were 94 billion. As of 2023 Q3, the accumulated inflow of profits from investments in China of TWSE-listed and TPEx-listed companies were 726 billion and 73 billion respectively. The total amount was 799 billion accounting for 28.57% of the accumulated outflow of Investments in China of 2,794 billion.
2. Outward Investments and profits excluding China: (amount in NTD)
(1) As of 2023 Q3, 1,293 listed companies (729 TWSE- and 564 TPEx-listed companies) had investments overseas excluding China accounting for 76.24% of total 1,696 listed companies, an increase of 4 companies relative to the end of 2022.
(2) As of 2023 Q3, the accumulated outflow of investments of TWSE-listed and TPEx-listed companies were 7,651 billion and 728 billion respectively, totaling 8,379 billion, an increase of 528 billion from the end of 2022.
(3) In 2023 Q3, the profits from investments of TWSE-listed and TPEx-listed companies were 450 billion and 47 billion respectively with a total of 497 billion. The total profits ranked third highest in record despite a YOY decrease of 465 billion.
