In order to enhance the transparency and effectiveness of reinsurance arrangements through insurance brokers, and to strengthen the risk evaluation of assumed reinsurance, the FSC recently amended the aforementioned Regulations. The key points of the amended provisions are as follows: (a) regulations to be reinforced on governing insurance company brokers who appoint foreign insurance brokers for multi-layered reinsurance arrangements have been reinforced, and the time limit for obtaining reinsurance contracts has been tightened; and (b) regulations governing the assessment of business risk pricing in reinsurance have been reinforced.
